Longterm Downtrend Seen for Malaysia Crude Production
[Dow Jones] Malaysia's crude oil production will remain on a downtrend through 2021, due to the 15% cut in capital expenditures and the 25%-30% cut in operating expenditures by state-run oil company Petronas this year as a response to low oil prices. "Given Petrona's dominant position in Malaysian upstream segment, its more cautious spending approach will see overall production fall by 4.4% over the next decade, from 664,000 barrels per day in 2015 to 645,000 barrels per day in 2024," says the groups.
