Iraq's Compliance to OPEC Oil Deal Likely to Fall Further
"Political and economic considerations will compel the Iraqi government to further decrease compliance with OPEC production restraint agreement" in 2H, Ayham Kamel, director of Middle East and North Africa at consultancy Eurasia Group, says in a note. Iraqi Prime minister Haider Abadi "will probably need additional revenue to manage even basic government operations in Mosul and liberated Sunni areas," which are set to drive a 35% increase in domestic crude consumption since January.
