China Oil Demand to Grow by 270,000 B/Day in 2017: OPEC
[Dow Jones] China's oil demand is likely to grow at around 270,000 barrels a day in 2017, says OPEC in its latest monthly oil report. The Vienna-based oil cartel says projections for China's oil development in 2017 will continue to be based on "firm support from transportation and industrial fuels, lower GDP growth compared with current year," a continuation of the government's effort to reduce emission and enlarge the use of natural gas and coal. OPEC projects China's oil demand to reach 11.49 million barrels a day, compared with 11.23 million barrels a day projected for 2016.
