Iran is Primary Focus For Oil Market
The primary focus of the oil market right now is Iran, analysts at Commerz bank say in a note. Tehran is refusing to sign up to any agreement between major producers to cap output and the question is whether Iran could be exempted from it. Similar exemptions have also been made within OPEC in the past, Commerzbank writes. For ten years until 2008, Iraq was exempted from the individual production quotas which still existed at the time, because of the serious political problems it was experiencing (sanctions, civil war).
