Oil Prices to Remain Subdued in 2016, ANZ Research Says
[Dow Jones] An oversupply of crude is likely keep prices subdued into next year, says ANZ Research, tipping Nymex prices to be around $36 per barrel and Brent prices to be around $39 a barrels in the coming months. ANZ points out that the Energy Information Administration expects global oversupply will persist into 2016, averaging 0.4 million barrels per day. "This may be optimistic, given then 2015 surplus was 1.6 million barrels per day. Nevertheless, should production continue to decline and consumption increase at the same rates, then the oil surplus could fall, and prices could remain subdued even if that occurs," ANZ says.
