Pemex Adapts To Low Return Oil Market
Mexico's state-owned Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex, has cut capital spending by $5 billion in 2015 as it adapts to low oil prices. Speaking at the Oil & Money Conference in London, Pemex's CEO, Emilio Lozoya Austin, says the company is being "more careful about its investments" and is looking at long-term solutions aimed at increasing profits and cutting costs. "[Pemex] has merged three downstream activities and also needs to monetize midstream assets," he says.
