Hard to Be Bullish on Oil Over Next Six Months
When it comes to oil, it's hard to be bullish for the coming six months, says Bjarne Schieldrop, chief commodities analyst at SEB Markets. Says, October and November are the months when most refineries shut down for maintenance leaving more unconsumed oil in the oversupplied market. Meanwhile, oil production in the North Sea is increasing and could rise to multiyear highs later this year, Mr. Schieldrop says. Finally, he says, OPEC won't trim its production targets at its December meeting and Iran will add to the oil cartel's supply following the removal of the international sanctions against Tehran.
