India Oil Demand Continues To Rise
India's demand for crude oil and oil products increased to 4.2 million barrels a day in January with sharp gains in petroleum coke, naphtha, jet fuel and gasoline according to the Paris-based International Energy Agency's monthly report, a rise of 12% year-on-year. The watchdog says cheap oil is driving this demand with data showing the Indian manufacturing sector is in "expansionary mode". Year-on-year oil demand is expected to remain robust with the IEA forecasting 6.3% average growth for 2016 as a whole.
