Iran LNG Exports to Europe Challenging
Iran wants to export significant volumes of liquefied natural gas to Europe after the lifting of western sanctions but an oversupply of the commodity and competition from established Middle East producers are significant barriers, shipping brokers said. Iran has world's second largest reserves of LNG but needs to invest billions to revive its export industry, including pipelines to Europe and modern LNG carriers that cost in excess of od $200 million each.
