Mexico Oil Output, Exports Seen Falling in 2016
National oil firm Pemex will produce an average 2.25M barrels of crude daily next year, estimates Mexico's finance ministry, versus this year's anticipated 2.26M. Also significant is the expected fall in oil exports next year to 1.09M barrels/day from 2015's projected 1.18M. Mexico's effort to open up the oil industry to the private sector won't have an impact on output and exports for a few years. Meanwhile, the ministry predicts the average price for Mexico's basket of export oil next year being $50, same as this year's revised number.
