Falling Oil Prices Could Cut Ecuador Revenue by $3B
Ecuador's government is facing a large fiscal challenge given the fall in oil prices, which will result in the decline of net oil revenues by at least $3B this year, consulting firm Grupo Spurrier says. "Oil revenues would fall more, but there would be some saving in fuel imports," it says. The 2015 fiscal budget was approved with $8.8B of financial needs, including amortizations. In 1Q, the price of the Ecuadorean crude averaged $41 per barrel.
