JX's New LNG Receiving Terminals Come Online in Japan
[Dow Jones] JX Holdings' (5020.TO) two new liquefied natural gas receiving terminals in northern Japan started commercial operations yesterday, a company spokesman says. One is Hachinohe terminal in Aomori prefecture and the other is Kushiro terminal in Hokkaido. Both are aimed at meeting increasing demand for natural gas in rural areas where many household customers are shifting from liquefied petroleum gas. JX will deliver LNG to these terminals from its existing contracts to buy LNG from Australia and Malaysia, says the spokesman.
