Weak Oil and Asian LNG Prices a Risk for Canadian LNG
[Dow Jones] Only "one to three" natural gas export terminals may be commissioned by 2025 on Canada's Pacific coast, reflecting increased project cancellation or deferment risk due to weaker prices for spot market oil and liquefied natural gas shipments to Asia, Calgary-based investment bank Peters & Co. said in a research report Wednesday. Of 18 LNG projects currently proposed for the British Columbian coast, the report said the "most likely" to move forward are one sponsored chiefly by Royal Dutch Shell PLC and another backed by Malaysia's state-owned energy company, Petronas.
