OPEC Deal Could Boosting US Oil Exports to Asia
[Dow Jones] OPEC's deal to cut production could boosting U.S. oil exports to Asia. That is according to Wood Mackenzie analyst Sushant Gupta who says a rising spread between Brent crude prices and U.S. WTI could send Chinese and other Asian deal-seekers looking to the U.S. for oil. "We could see potentially more crude coming to Asia from the U.S. if the Brent-WTI differential is enough to offset the freight difference," he says. Falling OPEC output and rising U.S. supplies could make U.S. supplies notably cheaper than from elsewhere, with Mr. Gupta forecasting a Brent-WTI spread of as much as $1.50 by early next year.
