Recent Drop in Oil Prices? It's Just 'Seasonal,' Says Barclays

[Dow Jones] The retreat in oil prices of the last few weeks has been blamed on dimming odds for an OPEC deal. But Barclays blames the decline on seasonal factors and says the physical oil markets are showing signs of strength. Among them: narrowing spreads between different WTI contracts and higher prices overall for this year. "The dynamic of improving time spreads and continued EIA reporting of weekly crude draws will also support market sentiment, relative to the current state of affairs," the bank says.
