Three More Oil, Gas Companies Cutting Jobs in Texas
Global Oil & Gas News
Tuesday, November 17, 2015
The troubling year for oil and gas companies continues as three more oilfield services companies announced they will be laying off workers in Texas – nearly 400 positions total.
In three separate letters to the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), Trelleborg Offshore, National Oilwell Varco and Cameron International announced they would be cutting 200, 120 and 75 jobs respectively.
Trelleborg Offshore, which offers engineered polymer solutions, is laying off about 200 of its 416 employees and temporary workers at offices on Rankin Road and Hardy Road in Houston.
National Oilwell Varco, a company that supplies oilfield equipment, is permanently closing its support facility in San Angelo, resulting in the termination of 120 employees. The layoffs are expected to be completed between January 15 and January 29, 2016.
Oilfield services provider Cameron International is laying off 75 employees at its Houston facility on Thomas Road, citing “current declining business conditions” in the letter to the TWC. The layoffs could begin as early as January 11, 2016.
