德国赢创工业考虑收购科莱恩公司

Reports: Evonik mulls acquiring Clariant

Evonik Industries is considering acquiring Clariant in a deal valued at approximately 7.3 billion Swiss francs ($7.59 billion), the Financial Times reports, citing people familiar with the matter. The deal could create a €20-billion ($21.8 billion) specialty chemicals company. Clariant reports sales of SF6.12 billion in 2014. Following the news about the possible acquisition, Clariant’s share price increased nearly 10% this morning, to SF19.80, reports say. The two companies are in discussions, and no decision has been made yet, reports say. According to reports, Evonik has been evaluating a major acquisition in Europe since the past several months, and acquisition targets that had been shortlisted included Clariant, Croda, and DSM.
