Astana. March 19. KazTAG - Oil sector in Kazakhstan has been waiting for additional state support, said Almas Kudaibergen, chairman of Centrasia Group.
"We have certain state support in the oil service sector, and we hope it will be increased. The Ministry of Finance published a press-release yesterday saying about exemption from taxes, from property tax. We hope these measures will concern oil service sector either. The companies providing oil services also expect to get a chance of suspending the payment of taxes and penalties ," said Kudaibergen.
The crisis, he said, teaches and creates new opportunities. Kazakhstan is very dependent on oil.
“We know that after the crisis, the share of local companies will increase significantly in terms of work and services, and we see that the state also aims to increase local content in oil and gas projects,” he said.
