U.S. Crude-Oil Stockpiles Likely to Fall in DOE Data, Analysts Say

U.S. crude-oil stocks are expected to decrease in data due Wednesday from the Energy Department, according to a survey of analysts and traders by The Wall Street Journal.

Estimates from 10 analysts and traders showed U.S. oil inventories are projected to have fallen by 3.2 million barrels, on average, in the week ended Jan. 3. Nine of the 10 analysts surveyed expect oil stockpiles to decrease from the previous week. Forecasts range from a decline of 5.5 million barrels to a rise of 2 million barrels.
