By Dan Molinski
U.S. crude oil stockpiles unexpectedly fell for the week ended Nov. 18, while gasoline supplies climbed, according to data released Wednesday by the Energy Information Administration.
Crude-oil stockpiles declined by 1.3 million barrels to 489 million barrels, which is at the upper limit of the average range for this time of year, the EIA said. Analysts surveyed by The Wall Street Journal had predicted crude supplies would rise by 800,000 barrels on the week.
Oil stored at the Cushing, Okla., delivery point for U.S. stocks, decreased by 87,000 barrels to 59.1 million barrels, the EIA said in its weekly report.
