OPEC Sees Brexit Drag on Economy, European Oil Demand
The U.K.'s vote to leave the European Union poses risks to global economic growth and oil demand in Europe, The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries says. OPEC downgrades its forecast of global economic growth in 2016 to 3% from 3.1%, and says growth in the eurozone would slow to 1.2% instead of 1.5% in 2016. Demand in eurozone, which represents around 14.5% of the global oil demand, is expected to reach 13.74 million barrels a day this year, roughly unchanged from the 13.71 million barrels a day seen in 2015, it adds.
